Dundee Bistro, The
The Dundee Bistro offers a casual, friendly, yet upscale dining atmosphere where tourists, local residents and winemakers are welcome. From its inception in 1999, The Dundee Bistro has been a leader in sourcing fresh ingredients from neighboring farms, ranches and waters, seeking organically produced foods whenever possible. Guests enjoy foods that are made in house, from pasta to soups, bread, sauces and desserts. Wine enthusiasts can expect a deep local and international wine selection. The Dundee Bistro is an iconic restaurant located in the center of Oregon's wine region that was created and continues to be owned by Oregon's wine pioneering Ponzi family. Outdoor courtyard dining is popular during the summer season and the restaurant's fireside tables are a favorite among guests during Oregon's traditionally cool and wet seasons. Call ahead for large groups. Private parties and special events are available as well as offsite catering.
In 1999, the Ponzi Family recognized the rapidly increasing enthusiasm for wine touring was not supported by sufficient fine dining facilities located in wine country. They took a risk, one some observers described as overly ambitious and naively premature. They conceived, constructed and continue to operate the culinary center in the tiny, but perfectly situated, town of Dundee. The center presents The Dundee Bistro and the Ponzi Wine Bar, showcasing the region’s finest wines. Reception to the facility has been overwhelming, garnering local popularity along with excellent reviews and recommendations in national media.
