NRA Basic Pistol Class

Want to know how to lawfully carry concealed in Oregon? 

Are you new to owning a firearm and want some hands on training?

 

This class is taught by Gibson Auction Services LLC. Star with over 11 years experience of being a NRA CRSO and Instructor she brings her energy, mindset and knowledge to help you learn a very keen skill to have.  All are welcome!  

 

If you bring a firearm with you, have it unloaded in a gun case.  It will be inspected before class.  

 

In my NRA basic pistol class, the following topics are typically covered:

 

1. **Firearm Safety**:

1. Always treat the gun as if it's loaded

2. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot

3. Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction

 

2. **Pistol Parts and Operation**: An overview of the different components of a pistol (barrel, trigger, slide, magazine, etc.) and how they function.

 

3. **Ammunition**: The different types of ammunition, proper loading/unloading techniques, and understanding how ammo functions in a firearm.

 

4. **Basic Shooting Fundamentals**: Proper stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, and trigger control.

 

5. **Range Etiquette**: Rules and best practices for shooting at a range, including communication with others and handling firearms responsibly in public settings.

 

6. **Cleaning and Maintenance**: Basic cleaning and care procedures to ensure the pistol operates safely and effectively.

 

7. **Storage and Legal Considerations**: Safe storage practices and an introduction to the legal aspects of owning and carrying a firearm

You will need to pay your non refundable deposit of $50.00.  Certificates are pre-made before class, so please send your information to stauros@gibsonauctionservices.com
